Dear Ms Koh, I have been consistently satisfied with Smartz Playhouse and my two children have been very happy there. The school is a welcoming, vibrant and culturally diverse place. Many of the friendly staff have been employed there for several years, with much lower staff turnover than many schools in the area. The very approachable Principal is always hands-on, very welcoming and makes herself available for a friendly chat or a more formal conversation if needed. The staff and principal have always acted promptly and taken matters seriously in the few instances I have raised concerns. I have never been so proud and happy as I was at my daughter’s graduation concert when she spoke confidently in mandarin and played a lead role in the short play “The Rainbow Fish”. To see her transform from a painfully shy 3 years old to a confident 6 years old able to speak in front of a full auditorium was truly moving for me. The school runs parent parties on a regular basis where pupils, staff and parents can enjoy a fun-filled evening of events and food. Volunteering at these events and actively taking part in school life has made our family feel much closer to the school. My daughter was very well prepared for life at a local primary school, even in Chinese (we are a non-Chinese speaking family), which I am sure was largely due to the excellent staff and work assigned at the school. I would not hesitate in recommending the school to others. Hope this helps!
